asked the Attorney-General when he expects to be able to make an announcement with regard to the submission recently made to him by the Council on Tribunals concerning the grant of planning permission for the working of chalk at Stansted, Essex.

This matter was referred to my noble Friend, the Lord Chancellor, by the Council on Tribunals in pursuance of Section 1 (1, c) of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act, 1958. My noble Friend will be replying today to a Question on the subject which has been put down for Written Answer in another place.
