§ 28. Mr. Fletcherasked the Minister of Works what plans he has prepared for promoting the attractions and amenities during the summer season for visitors to ancient monuments within the care of his Department.
§ The Minister of Works (Lord John Hope)The Departmental Committee, under the Chairmanship of my hon. Friend, the Parliamentary Secretary, has already done a great deal by providing new or improved facilities, new publications, and publicity. Further schemes are in hand, for operation this summer and thereafter. An exhibition of publications about ancient monuments and other tourist attractions is to be mounted in conjunction with Her Majesty's Stationery Office at Charing Cross Underground Station in July.
§ Mr. FletcherWill the Minister bear in mind the specific recommendation of the Select Committee that provision for refreshment should be made at many more of these monuments?
