Commander Courtneyasked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether he will consider the granting of a uniform allowance to Admiralty civilian drivers, or, as an alternative, the granting of a free issue of uniform, in order to bring Admiralty practice in this respect into line with that of other Departments.
§ Mr. C. Ian Orr-EwingAdmiralty drivers of passenger cars are already provided with a cap, dustcoat and overcoat, and with raincoats as necessary on loan. It has recently been decided to provide further articles of uniform clothing to regular drivers of certain classes of car.
