HC Deb 23 May 1960 vol 624 c20
16. Sir D. Robertson

asked the Minister of Labour what information he has received from the British Transport Commission regarding the number of Highland railwaymen and women who will lose their jobs of 13th June; and what alternative work he expects to find for them in Caithness and Sutherland where the unemployment rate is always the highest on the mainland of Great Britain.

Mr. Heath

I am informed that 79 posts will be affected and that all those concerned will be offered other work by British Railways.
