HC Deb 19 May 1960 vol 623 c1471
26. Mr. Weitzman

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why school-crossing patrols in the Metropolitan Police area had a day's pay stopped on the occasion of the royal wedding.

Mr. Renton

Under their conditions of services, patrols are not paid for days when the schools are closed. But the day of the Royal Wedding was an exceptional occasion, and arrangements are being made to pay patrols in the Metropolitan Polict District for that day.
