HC Deb 03 May 1960 vol 622 cc869-70
22. Mr. Stodart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what application he has received from the Edinburgh City Corporation, consequent upon the resolution expressed at its meeting on 14th April last, for a grant towards the cost of proceeding with a survey of the origin and destination of traffic approaching the city; and what reply he has given.

Mr. N. Macpherson

The Answer to both parts of the Question is, "None, Sir."

Mr. Stodart

Would my hon. Friend take it from me that at its meeting on 14th April a decision to make a request was passed? Will he have his reply to that request, when it comes, ready so that work may be undertaken as soon as possible?

Mr. Macpherson

I take note of what my hon. Friend has said. Technical discussions have already been going on between the Department and the Corporation.

Mr. Hoy

Can the hon. Gentleman explain why there has been this long delay in presenting the report of the judicial inquiry into the proposed changes at Randolph Crescent?

Mr. Macpherson

That is a totally different question.
