§ Sir D. EcclesMy information is that 20 local education authorities do not make grants for distinctive school clothing: with permission, I will circulate a list in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Mr. HaymanWill the Minister say whether other local authorities make grants for clothing and boots which are not distinctive?
§ Sir D. EcclesThey have the power to do so under Section 5 of the Education (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1948, and there is no reason why they should not exercise those powers.
