§ 31. Mr. Chetwyndasked the Minister of Aviation whether he will now announce his decision in respect of outstanding applications for low fares by the Air Corporations and independent operators.
§ The Minister of Aviation (Mr. Duncan Sandys)I will make an announcement as soon as possible.
§ Mr. ChetwyndIs the Minister aware that these applications have now been outstanding for many months and that it is high time that a decision was made on them? Can he say whether the decision will be made in time to enable the operators to put these fares in force for this summer?
§ Mr. SandysAs I think the hon. Gentleman knows, I am as anxious as he is to clear up this matter, but before making an announcement I have to consult certain colonial and Commonwealth authorities on the conclusions that have just been reached at the I.A.T.A. meeting in Paris.
