Mr. Thorntonasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will arrange that the accounts of the amounts paid to firms and individuals for scrapping machinery under the terms of the Cotton Industry Act, 1959, will be subject to the scrutiny of the Comptroller and Auditor-General and laid before Parliament.
