§ 35. Mr. Woodburnasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware of the losses of valuable herds incurred in farm fires; and whether he will take steps to ensure that all farm buildings are equipped by already existing automatic mechanical devices for releasing trapped animals.
§ Mr. LeburnI have nothing to add at present to the reply given on this matter yesterday by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
§ Mr. WoodburnIs not the hon. Gentleman aware that that reply said that the Minister had not heard of it? Is he aware that I am informed that apparatus exists that can open doors in case of fire and allow trapped animals to escape? A great deal of valuable stock is lost in this way. Is he prepared to look into it if information is sent to him about it?
§ Mr. LeburnCertainly.
