HC Deb 20 June 1960 vol 625 cc157-8

Again considered in Committee.

Mr. Barber

My attention has been drawn to the Explanatory Memorandum and to Clause 69. The right hon. Member will see that expenses incurred by the Chief Registrar under the Act shall he met from money voted by Parliament. It goes on to say that Such expenditure may be incurred in respect of clauses 8, 9 and 13, but it is expected to be quite small in amount I can assure the right hon. Member that if it were possible to quantify it we would have done so and would have given the information.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the law relating to building societies, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of any expenses incurred by the Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies in consequence of the provisions of the Act, and the payment into the Exchequer of any money received by him under the Act.

Resolution to be reported.

Report to be received Tomorrow.
