Lords Amendment: In page 5, line 19. at end insert: (3) It shall not be an objection to the competency of an inspector to give evidence in any proceeding instituted in Scotland in pursuance of the last foregoing subsection that the proceeding is brought at his instance or conducted by him.

I beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.

The previous powers conferred by the Bill would not have been sufficient in Scotland, where the prosecutor cannot give evidence in a case which he is conducting without specific authority. The intention of the Amendment is to provide that authority.
