§ 32. Mr. McInnesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give details of the projects which have been completed in the technical education building programme of £10½ million announced in 1956.
§ Mr. MaclayAs the list is fairly long I shall, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The total value of the work completed, which includes a new technical college at Thurso, is £345,000.
§ Mr. McInnesSurely the right hon. Gentleman cannot be satisfied with the rate of progress in this matter? What he is suggesting is that projects costing between £130,000-£200,000 are taking four years to complete. Is not this most unsatisfactory?
§ Mr. MaclayI am never satisfied with the rate of progress of almost everything with which I have anything to do, but I believe that the full £10 million will be committed by the time we said it would and that progress is being made now.
