§ 3. Mr. Fitchasked the President of the Board of Trade what imports of Russian fuel oil have been authorised since February 1958; and how much cement has been exported to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics during the same period.
§ Mr. ErrollIn the period from February 1958 to October 1960, 201,733 tons of fuel oil have been imported under licence from the Soviet Union; 3,021 tons of cement were exported to the Soviet Union in the same period.
§ Mr. FitchIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that Russian fuel oil is being imported to this country at a price which is at least £2 a ton lower than the market price? Would not he agree that the cement company involved has pulled a fast one over the Government by exporting a token export of cement in return for fuel oil at dumping prices?
§ Mr. ErrollNo. The Portland Cement Company received its licence in February, 1958, and it was quite openly entered into. But other licences have not been issued since then.
