HC Deb 13 December 1960 vol 632 c204
38. Mr. Shepherd

asked the Attorney-General if he is aware of the extensive practice of freeholders, solicitors, estate agents, building societies and corporations insisting upon a specific insurance company for fire cover in respect of properties with which they are concerned as a result of which commissions are often drawn; and whether he intends to deal with this restrictive trade practice legislatively, as recommended by the Leasehold Committee Final Report, 1950.

The Attorney-General

I have no information as to the extent of the practice referred to. The Government do not propose to introduce legislation to deal with it.
