HC Deb 13 December 1960 vol 632 c213
49. Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Minister of Works when he proposes to complete the restoration of No. 2 Carlton Gardens, once Lord Kitchener's house; how long the restoration will take; why commencement of this work has been delayed; and to what use the building will eventually be put.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works (Mr. Richard Thompson)

I hope that a contract will be let next summer and work completed in the autumn of 1962. The interior planning of the building has been revised but working drawings are now well advanced. The principal use will be to accommodate the Royal Fine Art Commission.
