asked the Minister of Health why there has been a lengthy delay in approving the High Wycombe War Memorial Hospital Scheme.

Mr. Powell

The regional hospital board was authorised on 10th November to prepare working drawings and bills of quantities for the first phase. I am considering measures to accelerate the approval of hospital schemes.

Mr. Hall

I am very glad to hear that my right hon. Friend is considering methods of accelerating these hospital schemes. Does he realise that people in High Wycombe have been waiting an interminable time for this hospital extension and present conditions in the hospital throw an intolerable strain on the loyalty of the staff? I hope that the project will be speeded up very rapidly indeed.
