§ 14. Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Power on what date he received proposals from the Gas Board and the Central Electricity Authority to extend the benefits of the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1959, to their pensioners both from previously privately-owned and municipally-owned companies; and whether the date of the increase will coincide with the Pensions (Increase) Act.
§ The Minister of Power (Mr. Richard Wood)The electricity supply industry scheme was received on 10th September and has been approved. I have approved 11 the draft gas industry schemes in principle, but they have not yet been submitted for my formal approval. In both industries, the increased benefits will be payable from the same date as benefits under the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1959, which is 1st August, 1959.
