§ 15. Mr. Jayasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has yet decided whether to accept the recommendations of the Radcliffe Committee on the Working of the Monetary System that local authorities should have unrestricted access to the Public Works Loan Board at prevailing gilt-edged rates.
Mr. AmoryAs I indicated to the House on 3rd November, I hope there will be an early opportunity for a general discussion on the Report of the Radcliffe Committee on the Working of the Monetary System. I expect to be able to announce at that time the Government's decision on these recommendations.
§ Mr. JayAs the two recommendations are important, can the Chancellor assure us that he will take a definite decision on these points at least by the date of the debate?
