§ 10. Mr. Jegerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is now in a position to make a statement on the implementation of the Heneage Report of 1951.
§ 17. Mr. du Cannasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will now make a statement on the action which the Government proposed to take, following on the discussions with the associations concerned, about the Heneage Report on Land Drainage.
§ Mr. John HareAt the moment, I have nothing to add to the Written Reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Sunderland, North (Mr. Willey) on 2nd November.
§ Mr. JegerWould the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that over a long period now we have been promised that something would be done about this "very soon"? There was no foreshadowing of any legislation in the Gracious Speech. Can the right hon. Gentleman, therefore, tell us when we may expect legislation, whether it will be this Session or the next Session?
§ Mr. HareAs the hon. Gentleman knows better than most people in this House, this is an extremely difficult and a rather controversial matter. I have said that I hope to make a statement. I think the point in which the hon. Gentleman is interested will be covered in the statement. Perhaps he will be good enough to wait for it.
