§ 32. Mr. Gowerasked the Postmaster-General what action has been taken by his Department concerning recent unauthorised sound broadcasts in Wales, made on behalf of a political party; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. K. ThompsonInvestigations are constantly being made by my Department into illicit transmissions and other forms of interference with authorised radio services. I cannot give details of the action taken in any particular case.
§ Mr. T. W. JonesIs the hon. Gentleman aware that the most unauthorised voice of Wales is that of the hon. Member for Barry (Mr. Gower), who asked the Question? [HON. MEMBERS: "Order"] At the same time, may I impress upon the Assistant Postmaster-General the need to extend to all the parties existing in Wales the same privileges as are now enjoyed by the hon. Member?
§ Mr. ThompsonI do not think that the House needs to be reminded that my hon. Friend comes here with precisely the same authority as does the hon. Member for Merioneth (Mr. T. W. Jones). The Question relates to illicit transmissions, and not to those that the hon. Gentleman has in mind.
