HC Deb 19 March 1959 vol 602 c603
Mr. Oram

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will now state his intentions with respect to the Monopolies Commission's Report on imported timber.

Mr. J. Rodgers

My right hon. Friend is not yet in a position to make a statement, but hopes to do so shortly.

Mr. Oram

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that that excuse has been given before and that four or five different excuses have been given over a period of about six months? Is he confident that he has enough excuses to go on delaying and delaying until the General Election removes the right hon. Gentleman from responsibility in these matters?

Mr. Rodgers

The making of an order to implement the findings of the Monopolies Commission involves the consideration of a number of points. My right hon. Friend will announce his decision as soon as these points have been fully considered.
