HC Deb 17 March 1959 vol 602 c185
14. Mr. Willey

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, what steps are taken to ensure that the research on the question of oxidisation and rancidity in fats and oils being undertaken both at the Torry laboratories and at the Low Temperature Research Station at Cambridge are fully coordinated and duplication avoided.

Mr. H. Nicholls

It is the intention of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and the Agricultural Research Council that the close liaison between the staff of these two stations shall be fully maintained by the usual formal and informal contacts, not only in the field of fat and oil deterioration but also in all other fields where the work may be of mutual interest. Care is taken to avoid unnecessary duplication.
