asked the Paymaster. General when consent was given by the Iron and Steel Board to the installation of the new 48-inch primary rolling mill at Stewart and Lloyd's Works, Corby, as required by Section 6 of the Iron and Steel Act, 1953.

Was it with the approval of the Iron and Steel Board that the mill was of German manufacture?

That is a different question, of which I should like notice. I am not sure to what extent the Board takes into account the source of the equipment, but I have answered the Question on the Order Paper.
