HC Deb 09 March 1959 vol 601 cc872-3
32. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in view of the representations he has received from dairy organisations complaining about the labelling of milk substitutes which give the impression that milk has been used, what progress has been made in receiving the comments from interested organisations to the proposals for regulations sent to them by his Department.

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Mr. J. B. Godber)

My right hon. Friend hopes to circulate revised proposals shortly.

Mr. Dodds

Can the hon. Gentleman indicate how long it will he before his Department will be in a position to deal with these manufacturers who for so long have blatantly deceived the public in this way?

Mr. Godber

If the hon. Gentleman will contain himself in patience a little longer, the regulations will be coming forward and I hope that he will be able to study them then.
