§ 13. Mr. Pargiterasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government with regard to the establishment of the present 864 boundaries between Germany and Czechoslovakia, with particular reference to the return to Germany of territories now forming part of Poland and Czechoslovakia.
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreHer Majesty's Government consider that at a German peace treaty conference no consideration should be given to any changes in the Czechoslovak frontier effected in 1938 or subsequently. As regards the German-Polish frontier, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer my right hon. and learned Friend gave to the hon. Member for Gorton (Mr. Zilliacus) on 10th July, 1957.
§ Mr. PargiterDoes not the Minister of State think it unfortunate, to say the least, that so much trouble should be created by Federal Ministers in West Germany making constant references to the Germans returning to their home in the Sudetenland? Is that not likely to create more alarm and do a great deal of harm?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreI have stated the views of Her Majesty's Government. I repeat that we do not think there should be any change in the Czechoslovakian frontier or modification of it from the frontier as it existed at the beginning of 1938.
