HC Deb 05 March 1959 vol 601 c620
48. Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received regarding the draft Ice Cream Regulations; and whether he will allow adequate time for further consultation before laying the Regulations.

Mr. Godber

A revised draft of the Regulations was circulated for comment and my right hon. Friend and my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Minister of Health have now completed their consultations with interested parties. My right hon. Friend hopes to lay Regulations very shortly.

Mr. Willey

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether they have been able to reach a satisfactory compromise in this matter? Will he do his utmost to see that the present anxieties of the Milk Marketing Board are allayed?

Mr. Godber

Yes, Sir. When the hon. Member sees these Regulations I think he will realise that we have tried to meet the points which were in the mind of the Milk Marketing Board.
