§ 32. Mr. Bennasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement on the disturbances in Aden that preceded and followed the elections to the Legislative Council in January.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThere were no disturbances immediately before or after the elections on 4th January.
§ Mr. BennIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that many complaints about these disturbances have been received from people in Aden? Were none of them transmitted to him by the local authorities?
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydNo, Sir; there were none at all. There were about six cases of a minor character, the details of which I will send to the hon. Gentleman, but they certainly can in no way justify the description "disturbances".
