Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to increase the maximum number of metropolitan stipendiary magistrates, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (a) any increase in the sums payable out of the Consolidated Fund which is directly or indirectly attributable to any provision of the said Act increasing the maximum number of metropolitan stipendiary magistrates;
  2. (b) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament—
    1. (i) of any remuneration payable to persons acting as metropolitan stipendiary magistrates under any provision of the said Act; and
    2. (ii) of any increase in the sums payable out of moneys so provided under any other enactment which is attributable to provisions of the said Act relating to the powers of the Receiver for the Metropolitan Police District with respect to land and buildings required for the purposes of the probation system and his power to borrow money.—[Mr. Renton.]
