HC Deb 09 June 1959 vol 606 c798
25. Mr. Hamilton

asked the President of the Board of Trade what estimate has been made of the effect of the recently concluded trade agreement with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on Scottish industry.

Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

The increased trade with the Soviet Union which is expected to develop over the next five years will be of benefit, directly and indirectly, to United Kingdom industry as a whole. It is not possible to make a separate estimate of its effect on Scottish industry.
