Friend the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation has appointed two Scottish members to the Inland Waterways Redevelopment Advisory Committee, namely, Mr. Peter Meldrum, formerly Treasurer of Glasgow Corporation, and Dr. Thomas Shedden, an Edinburgh industrialist.
§ Mr. HannanWhile that explains the delay which in some measure has taken place over this matter since the original Committee was appointed, can the Joint Under-Secretary now go a little further and tell us why, since none of the canals in Scotland is linked in any way with those south of the Border, there was not a separate development board for Scotland?
