§ 47. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what reports he has received from Her Majesty's Embassy in Tel Aviv, or elsewhere, about the investigation of the 194 murder of Mrs. Doran; to what extent the Syrian authorities have been co-operating in the investigation; whether they have yet made any arrests in connection with the murder; what redress has been offered and demanded; and what further action is intended.
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by my right hon. and learned Friend on 8th December last year. Inquiries made of the Israel authorities bore out the evidence of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation. No investigations or arrests have, to the knowledge of Her Majesty's Government, been made by the Syrian authorities. Nor has any satisfactory reply been received to the Note referred to in my hon. Friend's reply of 21st January. A suitable opportunity will be sought to raise the matter again with the United Arab Republic Government.
