asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will now announce the new development plan for the Seychelles.

Mr. J. Amery

I understand that the Seychelles Government will be publishing the plan in the near future.

Mr. Williams

Will my hon. Friend give the House an assurance that the highest priorities in this plan will be accorded to the provision of improved housing, improved sanitation and improved education, and, if possible, that the development plan will include facilities for improved travel between both India and East Africa, on the one side, and the Seychelles on the other?

Mr. Amery

I should not like here and now to commit the Seychelles Government on the priorities, but I am quite sure that the points referred to by my hon. Friend will figure in the plan.
