asked the Minister of Health how much money was made available for building hospitals in 1951, and how much in 1958.

In England and Wales, £8½ million was spent on hospital building in 1950–51 and about £20 million in 1958–59.

Does my right hon. and learned Friend not agree that the improvement shown in the Answers to both these Questions is a further striking mark of the success and efficiency of Tory Government?

Yes, I agree with my hon. and gallant Friend. He has done a public service by drawing attention to the gratifying progress which we are making and which we certainly hope to continue to make.

To have the proper picture, can the Minister tell us how much was spent on housing on bombed sites in 1951?
