HC Deb 16 July 1959 vol 609 cc581-2
50. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what action is being taken following the Report of the tribunal that considered the disciplinary charges against Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Coutts.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I have not yet completed my consideration of the Governor's recommendations on the Report of the disciplinary inquiry, but I expect to be able to publish my conclusions during the course of next week.

Mr. Robinson

Is the Colonial Secretary aware that publication seems to be moving further and further off? He originally promised it for the end of this week. Will he give an assurance that, when the Report is published, he will make a statement to the House so that he may be questioned in the House?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

It will be published along with another document which, I think the hon. Gentleman will agree, may well meet his point.

Mr. Callaghan

If publication is to be unduly delayed, will the right hon. Gentleman indicate to the House what the conclusions are without waiting for the full details of the Report?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

It will not be unduly delayed.
