§ 12. Mr. Willeyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make a further statement on his examination of the working of the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926.
§ Mr. HareThere are many factors to be considered among which the question of feedingstuffs additives is an important one. Scientific work on this is proceeding, but until further evidence is available I am not in a position to make a statement.
§ Mr. WilleyAs the Joint Parliamentary Secretary said a year ago that the examination was proceeding, and as the right hon. Gentleman is still not able to make up his mind, will he appoint a committee to make up his mind for him?
§ Mr. HareI am grateful to the hon. Member for very helpfully suggesting how I should make up my mind, but I can assure him that this is a very complicated subject. The question of hormones is being studied. These are complicated matters which make it difficult to make an early announcement, but I shall try to hurry it up.
