Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to increase the statutory limits imposed on the amounts outstanding in respect of borrowings by the Electricity Council and Electricity Boards, it is expedient to authorise such increases in the sums which by or under any enactment are to be or may be charged on or issued out of the Consolidated Fund, raised by borrowing, or paid into the Exchequer, as may result from increasing—

  1. (a)to two thousand three hundred million pounds the limit imposed by subsection (5) of section fifteen of the Electricity Act, 1957, in the case of the Electricity Council, the Central Electricity Generating Board and Area Electricity Boards;
  2. (b)to three hundred million pounds the limit imposed by subsection (7) of section forty-seven of the Electricity Act, 1947, in the case of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board; and
  3. (c)to one hundred and thirty-five million pounds the limit imposed by the said subsection (7) (as applied by the Electricity Reorganisation (Scotland) Act, 1954) in the case of the South of Scotland Electricity Board.—[Mr. Maclay.]
