HC Deb 11 February 1959 vol 599 cc1175-6
35. Mr. E. Fletcher

asked the Minister of Defence what steps have been taken to co-ordinate with other Western Powers the necessary military plans required to preserve British rights over existing routes to Berlin to meet any possible blockade.

Mr. Sandys

Consultations are proceeding with the Governments concerned.

Mr. Fletcher

Will the right hon. Gentleman, therefore, correct the impression which has arisen in America that there is some reluctance on the part of Her Majesty's Government to co-ordinate with our Allies the necessary steps for the protection of the position of the Western Powers in Berlin?

Mr. Sandys

I think it has already been made clear that that is untrue.
