HC Deb 15 December 1959 vol 615 c1234
24. Mr. Brewis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has for increasing the number of beds for medical and surgical cases at the Garrick Hospital, Stranraer.

Mr. Galbraith

The Western Regional Hospital Board appreciates the present difficulties and expects to receive proposals from the board of management in the near future for the provision of additional beds.

Mr. Brewis

Would my hon. Friend keep in mind the fact that this hospital serves a very large area indeed, and that the provision of beds is a matter of great importance for the people living in the district?

Mr. Galbraith

That is recognised by the regional hospital board.
