HC Deb 09 December 1959 vol 615 c498
19. Mr. P. Williams

asked the Postmaster-General if he will give an instruction to all head postmasters that ex-Service men should be given priority for employment on delivery work in the Post Office.

The Assistant Postmaster-General (Miss Mervyn Pike)

It is already Post Office practice to give preference for employment as regular postmen to ex-Service men with a minimum of five years' regular service.
