HC Deb 20 April 1959 vol 604 c26
46. Sir H. Butcher

asked the Minister of Health whether he is now in a position to make a statement in connection with the progress of the new hospital at Boston.

The Minister of Health (Mr. Derek Walker-Smith)

The accommodation to be provided at the new hospital has been decided, and an architectural competition for its design will be held shortly. An assessor to judge the entries has been appointed, and the precise conditions of the competition will shortly be discussed with him.

Sir H. Butcher

Will my right hon. and learned Friend indicate in terms what he means by "shortly"?

Mr. Walker-Smith

"Shortly" means, as it implies, quickly, and as soon as possible in all the circumstances of this case.
