asked the Minister of Supply if he will make a statement regarding the trial at Woomera of the rocket Black Knight.

Black Knight is a test vehicle designed for various aspects of high altitude research, including the problem of re-entry into the earth's atmosphere. A programme of firings over the next two or three years is planned, depending on the progress made. Two firings have so far taken place; both have been successful, the heights reached being respectively 300 and 350 miles.

Are we to conclude from that reply that the Woomera Range is proving very satisfactory for this type of test?

I would say that that is an understatement. Woomera is a most excellent range.
