asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether it is now his policy to reconstitute the Committee on Land Registration in Scotland, the McMillan Committee.

Mr. Maclay

I am considering whether this inquiry should be resumed.

Mr. Johnston

As it is six or seven years since Lord McMillan died, does the Answer mean that the Secretary of State has been considering the matter all that time?

Mr. Maclay

Yes, Sir. I and my predecessors have been considering it all that time because there was no clear evidence of a general desire that the inquiry should be resumed.
