§ 41. Mr. Masonasked the Minister of Supply whether a decision has now been reached on the future of the Bristol Bloodhound and the English Electric Thunderbird guided missiles; to what extent they are to play a role within the Royal Air Force and the Army; and what orders have been placed by these two Services to date.
§ Mr. Aubrey JonesBloodhound and Thunderbird are surface-to-air guided weapons in production for the R.A.F. and the Army, respectively. I cannot give the size of the orders.
§ Mr. MasonCan the Minister do something to allay concern about the future of the English Electric Thunderbird and say whether it has any future within the Army?
§ Mr. JonesI can only repeat the Answer which I have just given, that the Thunderbird is now in production for the Army. To my knowledge, there is no contemplated change in that position.
