HC Deb 11 November 1958 vol 595 c167
4. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Attorney-General whether he will introduce legislation for leasehold enfranchisement.

The Attorney-General

No.

Mr. Donnelly

Am I to understand from that Answer that any Conservative candidates in Wales who advocate this speak without the authority of the Government and therefore can be regarded as politicians of low repute and no consequence?

The Attorney-General

I cannot say what the hon. Member understands from my Answer "No, Sir". Government policy in this matter has not changed since the Landlord and Tenant Act, 1954, which has worked extremely well.
