§ 7. Mr. E. Fletcherasked the Minister of Works whether he will make a statement on the results of his negotiations with the owner about the preservation of Corfe Castle.
§ Mr. MolsonYes, Sir. I have reached agreement with the owner of Corfe Castle, Mr. Bankes, under which he will put in hand the repairs urgently needed for the preservation of the Castle with the help of a grant from my Department. The repairs will be carried out by my own Department's skilled labour force.
§ Mr. FletcherWhile thanking the Minister for that reply, which we all appreciate, may I take it that these repairs will soon be carried out, that the dangerous part of the structure will be removed and that the public will now be fully readmitted to Corfe Castle?
§ Mr. MolsonWe are certainly going to make the whole castle safe. It will take a considerable period of time and the public will be fully readmitted as soon as it is safe for them to be readmitted.
