HC Deb 21 May 1958 vol 588 cc1288-9
49. Sir F. Medlicott

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what arrangements are planned to prohibit or limit the parking or waiting of cars in Cromwell Road and West Cromwell Road as soon as the extension road is in full use.

Mr. Nugent

Waiting restrictions will come into force on Talgarth Road, together with a short adjoining length of West Cromwell Road on 1st June. We will shortly consult the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee about the imposition of similar restrictions on the narrow length of West Cromwell Road east and west of Warwick Road.

Sir F. Medlicott

Will my hon. Friend bear in mind that this road provides us with an opportunity to build a first-class highway through the heart of London, and that his right hon. Friend will receive a great deal of support if he is firm about imposing restrictions on waiting, not merely on limited sections but throughout the whole length of this roadway?

Mr. Nugent

I will certainly consider that point of view.
