§ 41. Mr. A. Robertsasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will give the House a more precise date when the direct air service from the United Kingdom to South America is now expected to commence.
§ Mr. WatkinsonIt is B.O.A.C.'s intention, subject to a satisfactory financial assessment of the route at the time, to re-open a direct service to South America in the spring of 1960, which is the earliest time when Comet IV aircraft will be available for the route.
§ Mr. BeswickCan the Minister confirm that the service is to be operated throughout by B.O.A.C., and not in conjunction with a subsidiary from the Caribbean?
§ Mr. WatkinsonI understand that it is a full B.O.A.C. service, but if the hon. 410 Member will put down a Question upon the matter I shall be glad to look into it.
