The estimated average weekly earnings of hired whole-time regular workers in England and Wales in this period are men, £8 19s. 8d., women, £6 5s. 2d., and youths and girls, £5 3s. 10d. The corresponding figures for the twelve months ending 30th September,1951,are,respectively, £5 19s. 4d., £4 6s. and £3 15s. 7d.
