HC Deb 27 March 1958 vol 585 c575
26. Sir I. Clark Hutchison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that registered letters containing important documents sent by members of the public to the Home Office Nationality Department are not acknowledged; that this practice causes anxiety and annoyance to the senders; and if he will arrange that in future such correspondence shall at least receive formal acknowledgment.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

My right hon. Friend is causing the practice in this matter to be reviewed.
